Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using YourCVMaker ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

YourCVMaker provides an online platform for creating, editing, and exporting professional resumes. The Service includes AI-powered suggestions, template customization, and document export capabilities.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your resume content.

4a. Our Content

Except for the content you create (see above), the Service itself -- including its software, source code, resume and cover-letter templates, template designs, and visual assets -- is the proprietary property of YourCVMaker and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You may use the Service to build your own documents; you may not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the Service's templates, designs, or code.

Using a template to build and export your own resume or cover letter is the licensed use of that template -- the license covers the document you create, not the design itself. Extracting, reusing, redistributing, or commercially exploiting a template's underlying design -- its layout, styling, or HTML/CSS structure -- is not licensed, on any plan: paying for an export licenses the resume you made with it, not the design's source.

Copyright complaints (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights and expect the same of our users. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a takedown notice to support@yourcvmaker.com including: your contact details, identification of the copyrighted work, the URL or location of the allegedly infringing material, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them, and your physical or electronic signature.

If your content was removed following a notice and you believe this was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice with the same contact details; we will forward it to the original complainant and may restore the content within 10-14 business days unless they file a court action.

We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the Service to create misleading or fraudulent content

6. Payment Terms

Premium features require payment. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.

24-hour passes are a separate, one-time purchase: they never renew automatically, the 24-hour window starts at the moment of purchase, and downloads made using a pass are capped at 3 total during that window.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Fair Use & Acceptable Use (Pro Plans)

Pro subscriptions are licensed for personal use. By using a paid plan, you agree to the following:

  • Pro is for one person's own resumes and career documents — not for reselling access, running a paid resume-writing or coaching service, or white-labeling the product for clients.
  • One account corresponds to one person's identity. Creating resumes for multiple different people under a single login is outside the personal-use license.
  • We monitor accounts for signals of shared or commercial use, including the variety of distinct names saved to an account, daily export volume, and the number of devices actively signed in at once.
  • Rate limits (including monthly template download allowances and daily export limits) are enforced at the same numbers shown in the product — see the Fair Use policy for current figures.
  • Accounts that trigger these checks are reviewed manually, not suspended automatically. Confirmed violations of this section may result in account review, suspension, or termination as described elsewhere in these Terms, and forfeit eligibility for the money-back guarantee on that subscription.
