Administrative Assistant Resume: Examples & the Skills That Actually Get Noticed
Admin roles get overlooked on paper more than almost any other job because the work is often invisible by design. The fix is making the invisible part measurable.
What actually makes a difference
- Quantify scale: calendars managed, people supported, volume of correspondence, or size of the office/team.
- Name the software stack precisely (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, specific scheduling tools) — this is one of the most heavily ATS-filtered fields.
- If you've managed a budget, vendor relationships, or onboarding, that's a real operational bullet, not just "administrative support."
- Keep formatting genuinely clean — for this role specifically, a well-organized resume is itself a small proof of the skill you're selling.
