Build a Medical Assistant Resume That Gets Interviews
Free templates, ATS keywords, and resume tips written specifically for Medical Assistant roles.
Medical assistant resumes are screened on the specific clinical and administrative tasks you're certified and experienced to do -- vague "assisted physicians" language gets filtered out before a human ever reads it.
Skills ATS looks for in a Medical Assistant resume
What actually makes a difference
- Lead with your certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) -- it's often the first thing an ATS scans for, and missing it is a common instant filter-out.
- Name the EHR system you've used (Epic, Cerner, athenahealth) -- many clinics filter directly on this exact keyword.
- Separate clinical tasks (vitals, injections, phlebotomy) from administrative ones (scheduling, billing) clearly -- many postings need a specific mix, and vague language hides your actual fit.
- Quantify patient volume per day if you can -- it signals pace and experience level to a hiring clinic.
Put your certification and EHR system experience in the summary line, not buried in a skills list at the bottom -- both are common hard filters at the top of the screening process.
