Elementary Teacher Resume: What Works
A teaching resume gets skimmed by someone who has already read a hundred "passionate about education" resumes this month and skips right past them. What gets a callback is proof you can run a classroom and move outcomes, not a description of your philosophy.
What actually makes a difference
- Lead with your certification and grade-level endorsement (e.g., K-6 Multiple Subject, state license number) — it's the first hard filter a district applies before reading anything else.
- Turn "taught reading and math" into a result: a specific reading-level growth number, a proficiency percentage, or a gain you can point to on a report.
- Name curriculum and tools precisely (Fountas & Pinnell, Eureka Math, Google Classroom, IEP/504 experience) — district ATS systems commonly filter on these exact terms.
- If you've led a grade-level team, run an after-school program, or mentored a student teacher, give it its own line — that's real leadership, not a general duties bullet.
