Graphic Designer Resume: Examples & Why the Portfolio Link Matters More Than the Resume
For design roles, the resume's real job is to get someone to click through to your portfolio. Everything on the page should point there.
What actually makes a difference
- Put your portfolio link directly under your name — not in a footer, not on page two. It's the actual audition.
- Name your software stack precisely (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch) — generic "design software" reads as vague to both ATS and humans.
- Quantify reach or impact where you can: campaign views, client retention, a redesign's measured effect on conversion.
- Keep the resume's own visual design clean and restrained — a resume trying too hard to be "creative" often works against a design portfolio's actual quality.
