Massage Therapist Resume: What Gets You Booked
A spa or clinic manager checks your license and liability insurance before reading a single bullet — an unlicensed applicant gets filtered out regardless of how the rest of the resume reads. After that, what separates a callback from a pass is proof you can build a rebooking client base, not a list of relaxation buzzwords.
What actually makes a difference
- Lead with your state license number and liability insurance status in the header — most spas, clinics, and chiropractic offices won't schedule an interview without both already on file.
- Name your modalities precisely (Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, sports massage, myofascial release) — "massage therapy" alone doesn't tell a hiring manager which bookings you can fill.
- Quantify your book: sessions per week, average client rebooking rate, or retail/package sales — "rebooked 70% of first-time clients" reads as real business, not just hours worked.
- Name the scheduling and POS software you've used (MINDBODY, Vagaro, Booker) — many spas and franchise locations filter applications on the exact platform they run.
