Medical Assistant Resume: Clinical & Admin
A medical assistant resume gets judged on two skill sets at once — clinical tasks and front-office administration — and most applicants only show one. The ones that get callbacks prove both.
What actually makes a difference
- List certifications (CMA, RMA, CCMA) and any specialty training (phlebotomy, EKG) right under your name — practices filter on these before reading further.
- Split your bullets between clinical duties (vitals, injections, patient prep) and administrative ones (scheduling, insurance verification, records) so the resume reads as covering the full role.
- Name the EHR systems you've used (Epic, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks) — small practices and clinics search resumes for the exact software they run.
- If you've cross-trained across departments or covered for front-desk and back-office simultaneously, say so directly — versatility is the actual selling point for this role.
