Electrician Resume: Get More Callbacks
An electrician resume gets sorted by license status before anything else — a hiring manager or GC needs to know within seconds if you're licensed, insured, and safe to put on a job site. Skip that, and the rest of the resume doesn't get read.
What actually makes a difference
- Put your license type and number front and center (Journeyman, Master Electrician, state license #) — it's the first filter for almost every posting, residential or commercial.
- List certifications by name (OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, EPA 608) — these aren't optional extras in this trade, they're often the exact keyword a posting screens for.
- Quantify the work: panel upgrades completed, square footage wired, voltage systems handled (120V residential vs. 480V three-phase commercial), or crew size you led.
- Specify your track — residential, commercial, or industrial — right in the summary; the code requirements differ enough that "electrician" alone reads as vague.
