Resume for a High School Student With No Work Experience
No job history isn't the same as nothing to say. Every first resume is built from the same raw material: school, clubs, sports, volunteering, and the things you've actually done.
What actually makes a difference
- Put your skills and education above (not below) an empty work-history section — lead with what you have, not what you don't.
- Group hobbies, clubs, and volunteering as "Activities & Achievements" — a real hiring manager wants to know if you show up and follow through, and this proves it.
- One line under a school project or team role can carry an entire bullet point: "Led a 4-person project team" is a real, usable line.
- Keep it to one page — a first resume that's stretched thin to look longer reads as padding, not experience.
