What actually makes a difference
- Lead with your license and certifications (RN, BLS, ACLS) — they're the first thing an ATS scans for, and missing them is an instant filter-out.
- Turn "responsible for patient care" into a number: patient load, unit size, shift length, or a specific outcome you improved.
- List your EMR/charting systems by name (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) — many postings filter on this exact keyword.
- Keep clinical specialties (ICU, ER, med-surg, pediatrics) in your summary, not buried in a bullet three jobs down.
