Advanced Editor: drag-and-drop resume design

The Advanced Editor takes the resume you built in the Quick Editor and unlocks it into a fully editable canvas, where every piece of the design can be moved, resized or restyled on its own.

What it does

It gives you full drag-and-drop control over your resume's layout — repositioning text blocks, photos, shapes and backgrounds individually — for the kind of custom design a fixed template can't fully express.

How it's made

Opening the Advanced Editor hands off your current resume data and chosen template through a one-time local handoff. The template is then rendered off-screen at the exact width the canvas uses, and its DOM is decomposed: every text run and photo becomes its own individually selectable, positioned element, while decorative backgrounds (bars, gradients, SVG rings) are flattened into a locked base image behind them. Content that would otherwise overflow a fixed page automatically paginates onto additional A4 pages instead of being clipped.

How to use it

  1. From the builder, click "Open Advanced Editor."
  2. Wait a moment while your resume is decomposed into editable elements.
  3. Click any text, photo or shape to select, move, resize or restyle it directly on the canvas.
  4. Use the side panels to add new elements, change backgrounds, or switch fonts.
  5. Export when you're happy with the layout.

What you get

Pixel-level design control without needing separate design software — nothing about the layout stays locked once you open it.
