Pro Fair Use & Commercial Restrictions

Who Pro is for

A Pro subscription is a personal-use license: one account, one person, working on their own resumes and career documents. It is not a seat for a resume-writing business, a recruiting agency, a career coaching practice, or any other paid service delivered to third parties through your login.

If you run that kind of service, each client needs their own account. Sharing one Pro login across multiple people's resumes — even informally, even for family — falls outside what the plan is licensed for.

What we actually monitor

We check three things, and only three: how many distinct people's names show up in the resumes saved or downloaded from an account over a rolling 30-day window, how many exports an account generates in a day, and how many devices are actively signed in to an account at the same time. We do not track IP addresses or physical location for this purpose, and we do not run any AI classifier over your content to guess your industry or intent — those are proxies we deliberately did not build because they produce too many false positives (a professional resume writer editing one client's resume, someone on a shared family computer, or ordinary multi-device use like a phone and a laptop).

Names are compared as one-way hashes, not stored as plain text for this check, and the sample "YOUR NAME" placeholder every new resume starts with is never counted.

The real numbers

Pro includes 10 watermark-free downloads per calendar month, total — every format (PDF, PNG, Word) and every download counts toward that number, including re-downloading a resume you've already downloaded that month. On top of that flat monthly cap sits a separate daily velocity allowance of 15 exports per day across every format combined — generous enough for tailoring one resume heavily across an entire application session, and far below what running client work through one account would need. If more than three devices are actively signed in within the same 15-minute window, you'll see a notification — we don't lock the account for this today, just flag it.

Both numbers are enforced at the same place they're shown in the product: if the app tells you a limit, that is the limit actually being checked, not a lower one enforced quietly behind it.

Free accounts don't share Pro's watermark-free download allowance, but since 2026-09-07 every Free account gets 1 ATS-Friendly PDF download, total for the life of the account — a plain, single-layout PDF that carries a small footer credit line on every page, not the watermark-free Designer PDF Pro exports. On top of that, the existing narrow exception stays in place: an account whose email verifies against a real academic domain check (.edu and equivalent .ac./.edu. country-code patterns, not just a self-reported checkbox) gets exactly one free Designer PDF download, one time only — not a monthly amount, and not renewed once used, and separate from the 1 ATS-Friendly download above. It doesn't extend to PNG or Word, and it doesn't change your AI credits either way: those stay on the standard free-tier monthly allowance whether or not the account qualifies for the extra download.

A 24-Hour Pass has its own, separate download cap: 3 downloads total during the 24-hour window, across every format, including re-downloads — the same "every download counts, no exceptions" rule the Pro monthly cap above follows, just a smaller number sized to a single day rather than a full month. Buying a second pass while one is still active extends the 24-hour window from its current expiry rather than starting over, and does not reset that 3-download count.

AI credits & fair-use limits

Pro includes 500 AI credits every month — writing, scoring, ATS checks, the AI Editor, and everything else the app can do with AI. Most actions cost 1 credit; AI rewrite and each AI Editor turn cost 2. If you run out before the month resets, a 250-credit top-up pack is $5/€5, lands in your account instantly, and never expires — available on Free or Pro alike.

On top of the credit pool, one fair-use brake stays regardless of plan: a rolling 5-hour window caps how many AI actions can fire in one burst, so a leaked login or a script left running can't quietly rack up unbounded usage between resets. It's sized generously enough that an actual person doing actual job-searching never feels it — if you ever hit it as a genuine person rather than an automated script, contact support and we'll take a look.

What happens if an account is flagged

Crossing one of these checks doesn't suspend anything automatically. It marks the account for a human to look at, and may prompt us to reach out and ask you to confirm the account is for your own personal use. We built it this way on purpose: an automatic ban on a heuristic is exactly the kind of mistake that punishes a real paying customer for an edge case we didn't think of.

Confirmed commercial use — an account clearly being resold or run as a service after we've asked — can lead to suspension or termination of the account, per our Terms of Service. Termination for confirmed abuse also forfeits eligibility for a refund under our money-back guarantee on that subscription: the guarantee covers genuine personal use, not an account terminated for a policy violation.
