The AI Editor: build by chatting

The AI Editor is a chat interface where you describe your resume in plain language, and the AI builds or edits it for you, section by section, in real time.

What it does

You talk; it acts. Ask it to build a resume for a role, rewrite your experience to sound more senior, or tailor everything to a specific job, and it makes the changes directly rather than handing back text for you to copy in yourself.

How it's made

The agent loop runs entirely in the browser: each message is one call to the AI, which returns a reply that may include structured tool calls — set_personal_info, add_experience, add_education, add_skill_category and similar — defined in a shared tool contract. Those tool calls are executed immediately against your actual resume data, the result is fed back to the model, and the exchange repeats until it gives a final answer. Because the tools write into the exact same resume object the rest of the app renders and exports, every change the agent makes appears instantly in the live preview beside the chat.

That AI is Anthropic's Claude — the same provider named in our Privacy Policy — not an unnamed model behind the scenes.

How to use it

  1. Open the AI Editor, or the Chat tab in the Quick Editor's AI drawer.
  2. Start from a prompt like "Build me a resume for a senior product manager role," or upload an existing resume to edit from.
  3. Answer the agent's follow-up questions or give it more detail.
  4. Watch each change land in the live preview as the agent applies it.
  5. Continue to the download step once you're happy with the result.

What you get

A resume built through conversation, where every change is actually applied to the document you'll export — not a suggestion you still have to paste in yourself.
