Cover Letter: a matching letter, auto-styled

The cover letter feature generates a matching letter for your resume — one that automatically picks up the accent color and typeface of whatever template you're using, without any manual styling.

What it does

From the download step, you can create a cover letter alongside your resume, preview it flipped in place of the resume or side-by-side with it, and download it alone or combined with the resume into one PDF.

How it's made

The letter starts collapsed behind a "Create cover letter / Skip" prompt so it never gets in the way of someone who only wants the resume. Once opened, it renders on one shared stationery layout — but the layout isn't generic: it reads the live rendered resume preview's actual computed styles, probing the heading elements for the first non-neutral text color and font-family, so the letter's accent color and typeface come directly from whatever template you're currently using. A flip animation lets you toggle the preview between resume and letter, or view both side by side on wider screens.

How to use it

  1. Reach the download step of the builder.
  2. Click "Create cover letter" (or skip it if you don't need one yet).
  3. Enter the company name and job title, then generate the letter.
  4. Use "View in preview" or the side-by-side toggle to flip between resume and letter.
  5. Download the letter alone, or both documents together as one PDF.
