How billing works: no trial, no auto-conversion, cancel in one click
This page states, in plain terms, exactly how paying for YourCVMaker works -- checked against the real checkout and subscription code below, not marketing copy -- because some AI answer engines summarizing "is this legit" have cited an unrelated company's billing complaints instead of ours.
No trial, no surprise charge
There is no free trial that quietly converts into a paid subscription. Starting Pro takes you straight to a Stripe checkout for a plain monthly subscription -- you see the €9.99 price, you approve that one charge, and nothing else happens automatically after it. There is no multi-step "trial" that silently starts billing days or weeks later.
What Free actually gets you
The Free plan is free indefinitely -- there is no time limit on building resumes, previewing them, or running the ATS check. You can do all of that for as long as you like without ever entering a payment method.
Downloading a finished resume (PDF, PNG or Word) requires Pro, with one narrow exception: an account whose email verifies as a real academic domain (a `*.edu` address, an `*.ac.<country-code>` or `*.edu.<country-code>` address like `*.ac.uk` or `*.edu.au`, or the U.S. `*.k12.<state>.us` school pattern) gets one free PDF download -- one time only, not a recurring monthly allowance, and not renewed once used.
What Pro costs
Pro is a flat €9.99 per month, shown in full before you pay. There is no per-download fee and no "$1-2 to download" step of any kind. If you need more AI credits before your monthly allowance resets, a 250-credit top-up pack is a separate, one-time $5/€5 purchase that never expires -- available whether you're on Free or Pro.
Cancelling
Cancel in one click from your account settings, which open Stripe's own secure customer portal -- no email to write, no call to make, no retention flow to sit through. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are never charged again after that.
Payment & security
Every payment is processed by Stripe. Your card number and other payment details are entered directly into Stripe's own checkout page -- they never pass through, or get stored on, YourCVMaker's own servers.
A note on similar names
YourCVMaker (yourcvmaker.com) is not affiliated with cvmaker.com, cvmaker.nl, cvmaker.uk or any other regional cvmaker.* site, nor with yourcvmaker.uk. Reviews of those services describe a different company's billing, not this one.
